Frequently Asked Questions

We’ve answered some of the most frequently asked questions on our Vikan bucket range below.

How do you clean a dirty mop bucket?

To clean a dirty mop bucket, start by emptying the bucket and rinsing it with hot water to remove loose debris. Then, fill the bucket with a mixture of warm water and a mild detergent or disinfectant. Avoid using bleach, as this can release toxic gases when mixed with cleaning solutions. If you need something stronger than a mild detergent, you can use a mixture of hot water and vinegar, as outlined below.

Use a brush to scrub the interior thoroughly, paying extra attention to corners and crevices where grime may accumulate. Rinse the bucket again with clean water and let it air dry or dry it with a clean cloth.

To get white stains out of a plastic bucket, create a mixture of white vinegar and water, using two teaspoons of white vinegar to every cup of water. Soak a cloth or sponge in the solution and scrub the stained areas thoroughly. For tougher stains, soak the bucket itself in the solution and leave it for around an hour. After this, you’ll want to let your bucket air-dry completely.
