Choosing a handle doesn’t sound like a big decision, and it’s true to say that you’d be satisfied with any one of these handles. But it’s about which works the best in your setting, so that your Vikan brush, mop or squeegee doesn’t just do its job, it helps your employees to do theirs.
The sleeves on each product come in a range of colours, including the standard blues, greens, yellows and reds often used for colour-coding, as well as more options such as grey and white for custom colour-codes.
Standard handles come with an insulated sleeve for a secure grip, ensuring your team can work comfortably throughout their shifts. Made from anodised aluminium handles, they provide the right balance between strength and ease of use, making them ideal for daily use without causing fatigue.
Designed for comfort first, these handles were created alongside occupational therapists. They’re ideal for brushes used to reach high or vertical surfaces, especially if more than once a day. Like standard handles, they’re made from lightweight yet durable aluminium.
These handles are highly flexible. With a simple click, you can extend the handle’s length to clean hard-to-reach areas, then easily shorten it back for regular cleaning tasks. This flexibility also means that every employee can find a comfortable working position for their specific height—no more backaches. Telescopic handles can be made from both stainless steel and aluminium. We’d recommend going for stainless steel for especially demanding cleaning environments, as it’s highly resistant to corrosion.
Vikan’s Ultra Hygienic handles are free from any small crevices where bacteria could get in and hide, making them the safest option for highly sensitive environments. Available in a variety of sizes, this handle also features a matt finish for a solid grip, even for greasy hands.

Vikan mop handles come in various lengths, typically ranging from 840mm to 1540 mm (or even longer for telescopic handles). They can come in any diameter from 22mm up to 32mm.
Whilst these handles are specifically designed for compatibility with Vikan mop frames, brooms and squeegees, they can be used with other mop frames that have compatible fittings.
Vikan mop handles cleaning instructions: regularly wipe down the handle with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Ensure it is thoroughly dried to prevent any corrosion or damage, particularly for aluminium handles.
